our story
In 2009 Guy Awford and Jon Hallett, owners of the hugely popular Inside Restaurant, took over The Guildford Arms. Jon has lovingly, and painstakingly, transformed the space. On the ground floor he has created a light and modern bar and a dining area that overlooks the sunken garden.
The basement dining area, which opens out into the garden terrace, is home to our open-plan kitchen, where you can see our chefs in action.
Our seasonal dishes, created by Guy, showcase natural, fresh food, cooked with induction or over charcoal - the oldest and newest methods of cooking; fire and magnets.
For Guy it’s all about creating simple dishes that allow the food to taste of itself. He only uses suppliers dedicated to high welfare farming, low impact fishing and is committed to offering a large selection of plant-based dishes.
THE OFFER
The Guildford Arms is a great place to eat, drink and hang out. Dishes designed for eating together are served in a modern light space, with a spectacular garden featuring white birches and herbs for the kitchen.
We love being a free-house and choose our beers and soft drinks to make the most of the local artisan producers. We have a European wine list focusing on small family-run wineries offering a delicious selection of vegan, organic, bio-dynamic and natural wines.
